Special Operations Boot Camp
What is it?
It is an injury prevention program specifically designed for emergency rescue personnel that will focus on all the major components of fitness, performance and teamwork over the course of 9 weeks. It is designed to enhance all the major energy systems of the body that these type of workers will encounter on their job. The long-term goal of the program is to cut down the number of days lost to injury, and improve the overall health and longevity of the workers.
This program consist of 3 Phases.
Each phase lasts 3 weeks.
Emphasis will only be placed on one phase at a time, but the other two phases will receive some work.
Phase I: General Conditioning
- Concentration on the major components of the body and energy systems
- Focus on improving abdominal and low back strength
- Focus on enhancing muscular endurance
- Focus on increasing cardio threshold
Phase II: Performance Conditioning
- Concentration on improving strength
- Attention on developing power
- Focus on increasing agility related to the job
- Special emphasis will be put on correct biomechanics
Phase III: Team Conditioning
- The central focus is given to working together as a team
- Groups and pairs will be used to continue to build on the conditioning from the first 2 phases
This class will be held 3 days a week for 55 minutes
